THERAPY SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY THERAPY

At your first appointment you should expect:

  • Appointment will last between 60-90 minutes
  • Description of presenting problem(s)/symptoms and reason for seeking treatment
  • Information regarding past treatment successes and difficulties
  • Information regarding development, education/school successes and concerns
  • Current and past psychiatric history, medication, treatment etc.
  • Information about family history and relationships
  • Assessment of current risk (if applicable)
  • Additional information regarding trauma, substance use of other experiences related to why you are seeking treatment

At the end of your first appointment you and your therapist will determine if this is a good working relationship and if you should move forward for future appointments. At that time goals and plans for future treatment can be established.

So much of the therapeutic process is dependent on the client/therapist relationship, the first appointment is geared toward information gathering and relationship building in order to determine if this is a good fit for moving forward with the therapeutic process

Ages 12 & up
